Joaquin Phoenix’s recent appearance on Letterman resulted in some odd behavior.  Google it and you’ll find “Train wreck” and “Weirdo,” but what about freakin’ cool?

The “Walk the Line” star spoke briefly, about 14 words or so, to Dave about his upcoming film, Two Lovers, and his current musical experimentation (hip-hop?) but the one thing no one is talking about, is how cool he actually looked.   Sporting a rugged beard, black suit, and a set of Tom Ford sunglasses to top it all off.  The interview may have gotten weirder the longer it was on (Dave’s subtle encouragement didn’t help) but at first, all you notice is that classic cool.
